Social Mission
As an Island-based co-operative, Peninsula Co-op is proud to support the local communities where we live, work and play. Each year, we contribute to hundreds of local initiatives whether it be to enhance culture and youth experiences, or support health and education. Being a locally-grown company, we value the support of our community and actively partner with other local businesses wherever possible. It’s the support of our members that allow us to help support the community around us.

What People are Saying About Us
Diane PalmerCampbell River and North Island Transition Society

We currently host two yearly events that help us to raise much needed funds for the Campbell River and North Island Transition Society. Peninsula Co Op has sponsored these events for the past three years and has come on board once again for 2024. Not only are they an invested community partner they are also amazing to work with locally. We love seeing them show up every time with smiles on even though the weather for CNOY is typically awful. The funds that they donate for sponsorship go directly towards the programs and services we provide for free to women and children who are impacted by a number of barriers such as domestic violence and/or homelessness or risk of homelessness. We have asked women what these services mean to them and they often say that they have been life saving. Thank you Peninsula Co Op for providing funding that allows us to continue in providing these valuable resources to women and children in the Campbell River and the North Island.

We appreciate the support we have received from Peninsula Co-op. It was nice to have members of the Co-op come to our warehouse so they really understood and got a sense of the work we do in the Community. Thank you for including us on your Christmas Tree as well!

Peninsula Co-op has been a wonderful partner to Big Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria, supporting our mentoring programs across the Capital Regional District and in the Comox Valley. They are community-focused and willing to work with local non-profit organizations to find solutions that keep everyone moving forward. Peninsula Co-op plays an integral role in providing hundreds of young people across Vancouver Island with a much needed adult in their life - someone who can ignite their potential and help them reach their goals. For most of these children, life has been filled with loss, trauma and adversity. Thanks to Peninsula Co-op's financial support, time spent with their mentor now means they have time to laugh again, time to be a kid again, and time to plan for the future.
